-dips his head to Hazelstar, his voice silky- ...Of course. -sits down calmly, his fur striped with shadows from the large, ancient oak trees surrounding the clearing- Has your clan been well?
-stares at the ShadowClan apprentices, her yellow eyes round- Sorrelpaw, Sorrelpaw, look! ShadowClan apprentices! Should we go say hi to them? -looks up at Sorrelpaw, her brown-and-white tabby fur spiking up with excitement-
-tilts her head, looking closely at the ShadowClan apprentices for a few moments, then walks over to them without waiting for Peachpaw- Hi. -looks over at Thistlepaw- Have I met you before?
-bounces happily after Sorrelpaw, brushing up against her and purring loudly before pausing to greet the ShadowClan apprentices, her tail held high- Hi! I’m Peachpaw!
-narrows his eyes slightly, confusion pooling in his blue eyes. He tilts his head, his large ears pricked- Why wouldn’t they be? Prey has been plentiful in ShadowClan this leaf-fall.
Oh, has it? It's quite fortunate how kind StarClan has been to you. We haven't had as much luck. We're fine right now, but it seems like we might be in for a harsh leafbare. I hope you fare better.
Um, sorta! Actually, I was supposed to go to the last gathering, but I fell out of a tree so I couldn’t go! I hurt my leg and I was really really worried it was gonna be broken forever, but it’s not! Anyway, I’m all better now, so I got to go! It’s my first time at a gathering, I’m really happy! -pauses to catch her breath, then purrs and glances at Sorrelpaw, then back at Spottedpaw- Oh, have you met Sorrelpaw? She’s really really great! I like her a whole bunch!
Oh, well, it's nice that you got to come! The Gathering is always my favourite part of the moon. -nods and glances at Sorrelpaw- I've met Sorrelpaw, yeah. She's... -trails off for a little bit- ...well, she's something, all right. -purrs-
Well, she’s my favorite something, that’s what she is! -purrs even louder, then pauses and leans forward, her eyes wide and curious- So what’s ShadowClan like? Do you guys really eat slimey toads and bugs and crow-food all the time? And are you always this smelly? -wrinkles her nose a little-
-growls half-heartedly- We aren't smelly! We don't eat bugs or crow-food, and we only eat toads when we're really hungry. And anyway, they aren't that bad. -cocks her head- What about you guys? Does ThunderClan always let kittypets in if they want?
-narrows her eyes- What're you so scared of? We don't fight at Gatherings, mousebrain. Everyone knows that. Are you a kit that snuck in with the apprentices or something?
-as if on cue, the tall grey tabby struts into the clearing, looking at the other two leaders- Did someone say WindClan? 'Cause we're here now. -waves her tail casually and walks up to them- Happy Gathering, you two.
No way! We— -stops when she sees the WindClan cats arrive, her eyes wide in amazement- Woah, WindClan! Look at them all!! There’s so many cats here now! It’s so neat, right? -glances back at Spottedpaw- I’ve never seen so many cats in one place before!
-hisses, arching his back and unsheathing his claws- I’m not a kit. Back off. -snarls, his ears flattened against his head, his eyes narrowing to slits- Leave me alone.
-nods, purring- And whenever RiverClan shows up, there'll be even more! I remember being kind of overwhelmed my first Gathering, but you seem like you're having lots of fun! That's nice.
Fine. -puffs her fur out, tail flicking back and forth, and growls quietly- You're the prey thief, aren't you? I'll kill you if you come onto ThunderClan territory again. -whips around and stalks off- Peachpaw! Let's go!
-hears Sorrelpaw and immediately starts trotting back towards her, glancing back at Spottedpaw over her shoulder- Oh, uh, bye! -looks up at Sorrelpaw and purrs, her eyes bright- So, like, what happened? Between you and that ShadowClan apprentice, I mean. He looked really really angry, but I dunno why, ‘cause it’d be weird if he were angry at you, because you’re really really great and being angry at you is really really really hard, y’know? Oh, but if you don’t wanna tell me, that’s okay too! -brushes up against Sorrelpaw’s side and purrs louder-
-rubs her head against Peachpaw's and lets her fur lie flat against her spine, sitting down and starting to wash her paws- I think he's the one who's been trespassing. He's so defensive, he must be hiding something. I wouldn't talk to him, or any of the ShadowClan cats. They're probably trying to get your trust so you won't get rid of them if they come onto our territory. -glances at Peachpaw- Be careful.
Hope he's not dead. -shakes her head, purring- Really...dying before me. He's basically a kit! -looks over at Rowanstar- Anyway, he probably has a good reason for it. D'you think we should start without him if he doesn't show up soon?
Really? -pauses, then nods, glancing back at the ShadowClan cats quickly- Okay, I will, I promise. -shivers as the cool nightfall breeze blows through her soft brown and white tabby fur, her ears flattened against the cold- Brr, it’s freezing!
-purrs appreciatively at Peachpaw and nods- If it's this cold in leaf-fall, it must be even colder in leafbare... -huffs- I'm not looking forward to that.
-pads into the clearing, only around half of the RiverClan cats following, and dips his head to the leaders of the other clans- I’m sorry we’re late, we had a... unexpected visit from a badger, so Slatestar won’t be making it tonight.
-nods- Shall we get started, then? -without waiting for a response from the other leaders, he leaps onto the great rock in the center of the clearing and yowls, the moonlight turning his fur pale- Cats of all Clans, welcome! It is my pleasure to announce that ShadowClan has been doing very well this past moon. Prey has been plentiful, and Finchfeather’s kits are strong and healthy. Apart from ThunderClan trying to tear our pelts off, ShadowClan has been thriving. However, I’m certain Hazelstar has a good reason for all the aggression recently, yes? -looks at Hazelstar expectantly, his blue eyes glittering-
-casts a sympathetic glance towards Swiftflight, looking like she's about to say something before being cut off by Rowanstar, and makes her way to the top of the rock quietly-
-the fur along his spine bristles and his expression shifts into rage, not bothering to climb the rock as he yowls- ShadowClan has been well-fed because they are stealing prey from ThunderClan! There has been scent of your cats, Rowanstar, past the border, too far and too frequent to be accidents! -leaps onto the rock beside Rowanstar and looks down at the other cats- WindClan, RiverClan, I urge you to keep close watch on your borders near Fourtrees. -turns his head to Rowanstar, looking furious- I would not put it past ShadowClan to hunt in your territories, too.
-presses herself against Sorrelpaw’s side for comfort, her tail bushing up- ShadowClan’s lying, right? I mean, we keep finding their scent all over the place!
-takes a few steps closer to Thistlepaw, sitting beside him and speaking quietly, his voice a little shaky- Calm down. Rowanstar will know what to say. -shuffles his paws anxiously, his ears and whiskers twitching-
-yowls again to quiet the crowd of confused and angry cats, his voice steady- My cats respect our borders. The claims Hazelstar is making about ShadowClan stealing prey are false. -turns his gaze to Hazelstar- Do you have any other news you would like to share, Hazelstar, or should we move on?
-hisses, stepping closer to Rowanstar- Our side of the Thunderpath reeks stronger of ShadowClan than it does of monsters! If you continue to deny your crimes, ThunderClan will take matters into our own paws.
-narrows his eyes- Is that a threat? -lashes his tail, his lips drawn back in the beginning of a snarl- My cats haven’t gone a pawstep over the border. Starting a fight over this is reckless and you’re going to get countless cats hurt over nothing. Is that what you want?
Am I supposed to let your cats walk wherever they please?! There are borders for a reason, Rowanstar! This is not over nothing and you know that! -unsheathes his claws, his tail whipping wildly-
-approaches the edge of the rock off to the side and beckons Snowthroat over, murmuring something quietly to her. After a moment, she turns and glares at Rowanstar and Hazelstar, her tail flicking in annoyance and her fur bristling slightly- I hope you two aren't thinking of angering StarClan tonight. If you can't handle this discussion respectfully, this is not a conversation for a Gathering.
-tears his gaze away from Hazelstar and turns his head towards Nettlestar, looking angry at first, then thoughtful- ...Of course. -looks back at Hazelstar, his tabby fur lying flat- If you are still finding ShadowClan scent on your territory in a quarter moon, feel free to attack us if you wish. But until then, let us remember the full-moon truce. -dips his head- Does anyone else have news?
-her gaze lingers on the two leaders for a moment before she shakes her head and looks at Swiftflight expectantly- Has anything important happened in RiverClan this past moon? ...Besides the badger, I mean.
-waits a few more moments, waiting to see if anyone is going to say anything else, then stands up and dips his head to the other leaders before turning to address his Clan- The Gathering has ended. ShadowClan, we’re going back to camp. -leaps off the rock, his paws making a soft thud as they hit the ground-
-sniffs the air, then nods to his clan, looking rather proud of himself- We’re the first ones here.
ReplyDelete-looks around, his yellow eyes bright- Maybe they’re all just too scared to show up!
ReplyDelete-glares at Thistlepaw, mumbling under her breath- Or maybe they’d just rather not spend their time around an annoying furball like you.
ReplyDelete-comes into the clearing with the rest of his cats, his eyes narrowed, voice layered with forced friendliness- Rowanstar. Did you just get here, too?
ReplyDelete-dips his head to Hazelstar, his voice silky- ...Of course. -sits down calmly, his fur striped with shadows from the large, ancient oak trees surrounding the clearing- Has your clan been well?
ReplyDelete-stares at the ShadowClan apprentices, her yellow eyes round- Sorrelpaw, Sorrelpaw, look! ShadowClan apprentices! Should we go say hi to them? -looks up at Sorrelpaw, her brown-and-white tabby fur spiking up with excitement-
ReplyDelete-sits down across from Rowanstar, tail flicking- ThunderClan has been doing well. And yours? -pauses- ...Well-fed, I assume?
ReplyDelete-tilts her head, looking closely at the ShadowClan apprentices for a few moments, then walks over to them without waiting for Peachpaw- Hi. -looks over at Thistlepaw- Have I met you before?
ReplyDelete-bounces happily after Sorrelpaw, brushing up against her and purring loudly before pausing to greet the ShadowClan apprentices, her tail held high- Hi! I’m Peachpaw!
ReplyDelete-purrs- I'm Spottedpaw! Are you a new apprentice? I don't think I recognise you.
ReplyDelete-narrows his eyes slightly, confusion pooling in his blue eyes. He tilts his head, his large ears pricked- Why wouldn’t they be? Prey has been plentiful in ShadowClan this leaf-fall.
ReplyDelete-shifts his paws and glares uncomfortably at Sorrelpaw, his long grey fur bristling slightly- I don’t think so.
ReplyDeleteOh, has it? It's quite fortunate how kind StarClan has been to you. We haven't had as much luck. We're fine right now, but it seems like we might be in for a harsh leafbare. I hope you fare better.
ReplyDeleteWell? What's your name, then? -narrows her eyes and steps closer to Thistlepaw, staring intently at him-
ReplyDeleteUm, sorta! Actually, I was supposed to go to the last gathering, but I fell out of a tree so I couldn’t go! I hurt my leg and I was really really worried it was gonna be broken forever, but it’s not! Anyway, I’m all better now, so I got to go! ReplyDelete-watches the others for a little bit, then turns and walks over to the edge of the clearing to sit by herself, her tail twitching-
ReplyDelete-nods briskly, taking a quick look around- Where are WindClan and RiverClan? They’re late.
ReplyDelete-backs away a little and growls, uneasiness flashing in his eyes- Tell me yours first.
ReplyDeleteWell, she’s my favorite something, that’s what she is! -purrs even louder, then pauses and leans forward, her eyes wide and curious- So what’s ShadowClan like? Do you guys really eat slimey toads and bugs and crow-food all the time? And are you always this smelly? -wrinkles her nose a little-

ReplyDelete-dips his head to Nettlestar respectfully- Greetings, Nettlestar. Has WindClan been well?
ReplyDelete-dips her head in return- Yeah, we've been just fine. Do you know where Slatestar is? He's taking his sweet time, isn't he?
ReplyDelete-hisses, arching his back and unsheathing his claws- I’m not a kit. Back off. -snarls, his ears flattened against his head, his eyes narrowing to slits- Leave me alone.

ReplyDelete-shakes his head gently and sighs- No, actually, we’ve been wondering the same thing. He’s not usually one to be late.
ReplyDelete-hears Sorrelpaw and immediately starts trotting back towards her, glancing back at Spottedpaw over her shoulder- Oh, uh, bye! -looks up at Sorrelpaw and purrs, her eyes bright- So, like, what happened? Between you and that ShadowClan apprentice, I mean. ReplyDelete-leaps to his paws, hissing- ShadowClan hasn’t been stealing anything! You’re just trying to turn everyone against us!
ReplyDelete-stares at Hazelstar, shifting his paws uncomfortably-
ReplyDelete-hisses quietly, her ears back, and looks at her mentor fearfully- Waspwing? What is he talking about?
ReplyDelete-lowers his head to speak to Spottedpaw, his voice a low growl- Don’t listen to him. ThunderClan’s just trying to start trouble.
ReplyDelete-flicks her tail nervously, her fur bristling- Why? We didn't do anything!
ReplyDelete-presses herself against Sorrelpaw’s side for comfort, her tail bushing up- ShadowClan’s lying, right? I mean, we keep finding their scent all over the place!
ReplyDelete-nods, staring at Rowanstar with fury in her eyes- Of course they are! They live in their deceit. You never really know anything about them.
